Rossy de Palma

Rossy de Palma is a humanist artist who loves all forms of art: writing, music, dance, theater, opera, performance, photography, contemporary art, and design. An iconic actress who was brought to the attention of the general public by Pedro Almodóvar and has been a regular in his films for three decades, she has also appeared in more than forty films with numerous international directors. A loyal friend of the Cannes Film Festival, Rossy de Palma has been a member of the official jury and president of the Caméra d'Or.

Her sparkling, rebellious, and endearing personality, a blend of humor, irony, intelligence, radicalism, and her rebellious beauty, has also charmed many fashion designers around the world, such as her “dear” Jean Paul Gaultier. A major figure in contemporary visual creation, photographed by the greatest masters of the image, Rossy de Palma has established herself as an icon of photography through the uniqueness and expressive power of her image. A conscious muse and actress in her own representation, she participates fully in the creative process, transforming every occasion into a space for artistic experimentation. Her image dialogues with art history, from Dadaism to Surrealism and Cubism, and questions notions of identity and cultural diversity.

Rossy de Palma embodies a committed vision of art that is free, inclusive, and deeply contemporary, and her visual work constitutes a living heritage at the crossroads of fashion, cinema, and the visual arts.

Named Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, and awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, she is also a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador in recognition of her commitment to creativity, cultural diversity, the promotion of indigenous cultures, gender equality in the cultural sector, and the defense of artists' rights.
