Vir Andres Hera
Born in 1990. Lives and works in Aigueblanche.
Vir Andres Hera is an artist whose practice spans multichannel film installations, sound compositions, performances, and critical writing.
Their work explores the dynamics of diasporic consciousness, exile, gender identity, and memory through a language derived from expanded cinema, based on fragmentation, superimposition, and temporal disjunction. Drawing on collective and personal archives, they compose audiovisual assemblages that question hegemonic narratives and highlight marginalized voices.
A graduate of Le Fresnoy and Mo.Co. Montpellier, they have been in residence at Casa de Velázquez, Triangle-Astérides, and CIAP Vassivière, among others. Their work has been presented at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Gaîté Lyrique, Fonderie Darling, and Luma Foundation Westbau. In 2026, they are in residence at the Carasso Foundation in Madrid and are developing several international projects related to issues of diaspora and transmission.
